Moxa Takes the Initiative to Meet Europe’s
RoHS Directive
According to Directive 2202/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of January 27,
2003, the "Restriction on Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment"
(RoHS) directive will be effective starting July 1, 2006.
The RoHS directive requires that electrical and electronic equipment does not contain lead, mercury,
cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), or polybrominated diphenyl ethers
(PBDE).
Moxa is taking the following steps to ensure that our products comply with the RoHS directive:
1. The reliability test we conduct includes temperature cycling, thermal shock, high temperature
storage, vibration testing, and soldering reliability testing to ensure that our Green Products’
reliability is equal to or better than that of our current products.
2. The manufacturing process for Green Products will not use materials that include hazardous
substances, as described in the RoHS Directive.
Information regarding Moxa's Green Product Roadmap for all product lines, including RoHS
compliance and the transition to lead-free terminations, is available online at
